Fracture/Dislocation Reduction Procedure

___ Fracture/Dislocation Reduction
The patient gave verbal consent for this procedure knowing all risks, benefits and alternatives.
A time out was taken to ensure that the proper patient and proper procedure were accounted for.
A traction/countertraction technique was used to reduce the ___ fracture to an anatomical position.
There were excellent neurovascular qualities intact prior to and after reduction.
A molded splint was placed for immobilization.
The patient tolerated this procedure well and there were no complications.


Ankle reduction
Pre-procedure: The patient gave verbal consent for this procedure knowing risk benefits alternatives. The patient’s Right ankle was addressed. A time out was obtained to assure that the proper patient and proper procedure were in place.
Methods: patient was placed in a supine position. A traction/countertraction technique was used to reduce the ankle in the standard fashion.
Post procedure: the ankle joint appeared to be clinically reduced. All fracture fragments were felt to be in a much more anatomical alignment.
Post-reduction films confirmed this and demonstrated an anatomical reduction.
Neuro: excellent neurovascular qualities intact prior to and after reduction.
The patient was placed in a splint for immobilization.
The patient tolerated this procedure well, and there were no complications.
