You have been evaluated in the Emergency Department today for a period of altered mental status. Your symptoms have resolved at the time of your evaluation in the Emergency Department. At this time, no specific medical treatment appears to be indicated.
Your MRI results were unremarkable and did not show any evidence of an acute stroke.
Please follow up with your primary care physician within two days. If you do not have a primary doctor, you can call your insurance company to find one. If you do not have insurance, you can go to the finance/registration department for more assistance.
Return to the Emergency Department if you experience worsening periods of confusion, loss of consciousness, weakness, trouble speaking, vision changes, chest pain, shortness of breath, recurrent vomiting or any other worsening symptoms.
