Patient has a tendon injury to the [right hand] that does not require inpatient admission or emergent orthopedic consultation and therefore will be discharged home. Patient has currently been stabilized in the emergency department.
Patient’s current symptoms not typical complications of the tendon injury such as additional arterial or nerve injury, overt infection, FTS.
Patient understands the need to follow up with the orthopedist to get definitive care of this injury. They understand that they may need an operation and that the care provided in the ED today is stabilizing care but not definitive care for this injury.
The patient has been given strict return precautions and understands the need to follow up within 24 with their primary care doctor.
This patient’s injury has been discussed with the orthopedist who will follow up with them in the office in the next ___ days.
